Zach McGowan portrayed Roan on The 100. He appeared as a recurring cast member in Season Three, a main cast member in Season Four and a guest in Season Seven.

Life and CareerEdit

Zach McGowan was born and raised in New York City, where he started acting at an early age in school productions. His passion for the stage followed him through his high school and college years and landed him on the New York City stage in 2003 where he honed his craft in numerous off-Broadway productions. In 2005 Zach moved to Los Angeles to work in film and Television.

Aside from his role on The 100, he is best known for his television roles as Charles Vane on Black Sails and Jody on Shameless. He has made guest appearances on many popular TV series and appeared on feature film like Terminator Salvation, Snapshot and Dracula Untold, among others.

  • An audition tape for his character, Roan, was leaked. However, Zach was not the actor seen in the video.
  • On July 22, 2016, he was confirmed to be series regular for Season 4.[1]
  • He married Emily Johnson in 2008. 
  • He has older brothers named Doug and Matt.
  • He has done voiceover work for several video games, including Resident Evil 6, Iron Man and Universe at War: Earth Assault.
  • He was captain of the football and ice hockey teams at Ethical Culture Fieldston School, which he attended from kindergarten through his senior year. He later studied at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota.
