Multiple members of the cast and crew of "The 100" (including Jason Rothenberg) have hinted at a major character death in Season 3. Jason Rothenberg also said that it would be particularly difficult for Bellamy. . . . Any predictions?

I personally am thinking of Octavia (due to the last little hint), although it would pain me to lose her. Honestly, the only two people I can think of that would be difficult for Bellamy to lose in particular are Octavia and Clarke and I just don't see Clarke dying right now - not because I think she is immune, but I don't think they would do anything quite so shocking until the very end of the show where they don't run the risk of losing a large part of their fanbase. Not to mention, I think her story is far from being over.

As for Octavia, she has gone through a tremendous character arc over the last few seasons. And I am a strong believer that there is always room for more character development, but I'm trying to think of how her character can effectively (and drastically) change anymore. She's seemed to reach, for the most part, the extent of that character arc. Like I said, there's always room for more development, but with her arc already so dramatic, it is unlikely that she'll go through anymore dramatic changes. I don't want to say that her storyline is over, because it isn't, but they've done a lot with her already and her death would at least be logical in that sense.

Not to mention that her death would be absolutely explosive with both Bellamy and Lincoln caring so much for her and, as Finn did with Clarke, could develop their characters even further. Plus, that comment about it being difficult for Bellamy . . . It just makes sense, yeah? And of course they couldn't say it would be especially difficult for Lincoln because that would make it too obvious.

"The 100" has already proven that no one is safe, not even the main characters, so that doesn't mean that Octavia has any sort of immunity in this situation.

Now, for those of you who would argue that Bellamy is probably going to die (because it is going to be "difficult" for him), I just don't see it at the moment. Sure, maybe in future seasons, but not right now. Bellamy is a fan favourite. Even most of the more critical TV reviews I have read have claimed that Bellamy is one of the better characters. You don't have to ship Bellarke to love Bellamy, I know firsthand that a lot of Clexa shippers enjoy his character, just like a lot of Bellarke shippers like Lexa (just not with Clarke).

My point in all of this is simple: "The 100", although growing in popularity, doesn't have the same solid fanbase as a show like, say, "Game of Thrones" would. If they kill off a character with so many fans as Bellamy, that's a huge risk. They would lose a lot of viewers. I would keep watching, even though Bellamy is my favourite character, because I love show, but I'll admit that it just wouldn't be the same after. "The 100" just simply can't afford to be rid of Bellamy just yet.

But who am I to be saying these things? I'm just someone making assumptions so don't take my word for it. These are my thoughts, feel free to disagree. And I would love to hear your predictions.

UPDATE: A fan asked Aaron Ginsburg to spare Octavia, Bellamy, Clarke, and Lexa. His reply was "not all of them will survive, to be sure". If the death is the same as the one above (which I suspect it is) I am even more suspicious that Octavia's a goner. I've already explained why I don't believe that Clarke or Bellamy will die. As for Lexa . . . it's definitely a possibility! I mean, Clarke made her look weak when she defeated Mount Weather single-handedly. I have a feeling her people might recognize that weakness and decide her no longer fit to lead. We all know the Grounder's ways. . . . Or maybe she will do something to help Clarke against her people's wishes (although that seems slightly out of character) and it will end poorly for her.
