This article is about the Second Dawn character. You may be looking for the Trikru general.

Your father says we're not allowed to leave, even in suits, for at least a year, you know that.
— Tristan to Callie [src]

Tristan is an minor character in the seventh season. He is portrayed by Craig Arnold and debuts in "Anaconda".

He is a member of the Second Dawn and is friends with Reese Cadogan.

Early life[]

He was born on Earth, and at some point joined the Second Dawn. He survived the Nuclear Apocalypse in the Second Dawn Bunker.

Throughout the Series[]

In Thirteen, Tristan is one of the people who greets Becca Franko when she lands on Earth from Polaris in an escape pod.

In Anaconda, as the Nuclear Apocalypse rages, Tristan helps direct the Second Dawn cultists entering the bunker when August tries to go back for his girlfriend Janie who is not a Level 12. Reese contacts Tristan and orders him to take care of August who refuses to calm down, causing Tristan to strangle him until August falls unconscious. Tristan orders other cultists to take August away just as they are forced to close the hatch when a nuclear missile lands a direct hit on Baltimore overhead. Along with everyone else, Tristan is visibly saddened by the losses caused by the blast.

Later, when Callie tries to go outside to help the people still trapped, she finds Tristan sedated in the airlock by August so that he can leave to save his girlfriend. Having the same goal, Callie suggests that they put on radiation suits and get Tristan back inside the bunker before opening the hatch. However, as they prepare to put on radiation suits, Tristan recovers and holds the two at gunpoint as Bill Cadogan has said that they can't leave the bunker even in suits for at least a year. Pointing out that there's room for more people in the bunker, Callie tries to talk Tristan down, but he refuses to be dissuaded, stating that he won't shoot a Cadogan but is willing to shoot August. August challenges Tristan to shoot, but they are interrupted by survivors banging on the hatch above. Tristan moves to stop August from opening the hatch and Reese arrives with more Disciples, stating that whoever the people are would have a key if they were a Level 12. As August tries to open the hatch anyway, the other Disciples drag him off of the ladder and Tristan orders them to take him out of the airlock.

Two years later, Tristan is part of a ground team scavenging on the surface when Becca Franko arrives in an escape pod from Polaris. To the team's surprise, Becca is unharmed by the deadly levels of radiation, able to breathe freely without a protective helmet. As Tristan, Callie and Reese escort Becca through the bunker, Tristan suddenly collapses and begins seizing and foaming at the mouth. As Reese runs off to get help, Callie realizes that Tristan must've had a leak in his suit, resulting in him receiving a lethal level of radiation and a burn on his right shoulder. As Callie tries to help Tristan, Becca injects Tristan with Nightblood which she identifies as a "radiation immunity." As Reese returns with help, Callie orders Becca to keep this development between them. Still seizing, Tristan is carried off to Medical.

Callie later visits Tristan in Medical to find him sleeping and his radiation burn mostly healed, his new Nightblood having cured Tristan's terminal radiation poisoning. A nurse tells Callie that Tristan is "not bad, considering he should be dead" with clear lungs and no fever. The treatment has been so effective that the nurse questions whether Tristan was even exposed which Callie confirms. Visiting Becca in the lab, Callie informs the scientist that she saved Tristan's life with the Nightblood.

Five days later, a recovered Tristan visits Becca who has been locked up for refusing to provide Cadgoan with the final code for the Anomaly Stone. Tristan offers Becca water, telling her that she has some powerful people upset with her. As Tristan admits that he's grateful for Becca saving his life, Callie comes up from behind and sedates Tristan in an attempt to rescue Becca. However, Tristan doesn't have the keys for Becca's chains, preventing Callie from freeing her.

As Callie's group of Nightbloods tries to flee the bunker, Tristan enters the room with Cadogan and the rest of the Disciples to stop them. Unlike the other Disciples, Tristan remains on the ground floor with Cadogan as Grace helps Callie's group to escape. Cadogan and Tristan tend to Reese who reveals that Callie stole the Flame. However, Reese, having been made into a Nightblood by Callie before her departure and thus able to survive on the surface, offers to go after her to get it back. Tristan, also able to survive on the surface due to his own Nightblood, offers to join him which Cadogan accepts and Tristan helps the wounded Reese to his feet. The two men watch in shock as Cadogan shoves his ex-wife into the airlock and he orders them to get him the Flame at any cost.

Shortly after, the rest of the Second Dawn departs for Bardo with Reese and Tristan remaining behind to chase after Callie and her followers.
