It's true. We're not divine. We survive because we have technology. But we need your bodies to do it. Delilah's not one with me. She's dead, killed so that I could return. It's all a lie.
— Priya telling truth about the Primes [src]

Priya Desai was a recurring character in the sixth season. She was portrayed by cast member Ashleigh LaThrop and debuted in "Red Sun Rising".

Priya was a Sanctum resident and one of the Primes. She was the mother of Ryker Desai. Her last host was Delilah Workman.

Early life[]

Priya was born on Earth. At some point, she had a son, Ryker. They went aboard Eligius III to travel to the moon Alpha. They arrived there in 2045 and were original members of Mission Team Alpha. Priya was one of the mechanics for the team. During the first Red Sun eclipse, both Priya and Ryker were killed by Russell under the effects of the Red Sun toxin.

Priya and Ryker became two of the Primes and used various Royal Blood hosts for the next two centuries to be reborn after each death. Priya was on her sixth host, making her Priya VII until her host's mother killed her as revenge for Delilah.

Throughout the Series[]

In The Face Behind the Glass, The time for final stage of Delilah's naming ceremony arrives. Russell invites Delilah to the stage. Before going in, Delilah gets a little scared and returns to Jordan. She gives him a kiss and asks him not to let her be another face behind the glass. After that, she goes to the stage and enters a room. Some time later, she comes back outside, as Priya the Seventh. Jordan is shocked when he tries to talk to her but she doesn't remember him. She is acting like a completely different person - Priya.

In The Gospel of Josephine, Priya is talking to Miranda about the things she missed while she was "on ice" and says that she is sorry for Rose's death so Jasmine could not be resurrected. Then Jordan walks up to them. Miranda explains the he was Delilah's boyfriend and he gifts Priya daisies, mentioning they were Delilah's favorite flowers. Priya out of courtesy accepts them and thanks Jordan, saying that they are. Delilah's favorites had been calla lilies, so this "confirmation" of the daisies heightens Jordan's suspicions about Priya and the Primes.

After figuring out the bodysnatching, Wonkru members talk in the tavern when Priya comes in. Jordan freaks out, saying that they murdered Delilah, pointing out to Blythe Ann and Jae that she was their child. B.A. says that she misses Delilah too, and Priya calms Jordan down saying that Delilah is happy and she wants him to know that.

In Memento Mori, Raven confronts Ryker about the truth of the Primes and spots a picture of the original Priya and Ryker. Ryker reveals that he and Priya were both killed by Russell in the first Red Sun eclipse when he was a child and he didn't ask to be resurrected.

In The Old Man and the Anomaly, everyone has gathered in the Palace after Miranda's death. Madi sees it as an opportunity to kill more Primes, starting with Priya. When Jordan notices Madi about to stab Priya with a knife, he jumps in to save her, but Madi accidentally stabs him instead. While everyone else suspects the Children of Gabriel, Russell says that it was the group from Earth that killed Miranda. Priya wonders why the Earth group would turn against them since Jordan just saved her. At that point, Ryker reveals that they did it because Russell "murdered" Clarke to bring Josephine back. Some Primes are angry that Russell brought Josephine back before it was her turn.

In Ashes to Ashes, Russell tells John Murphy that Jordan survived his wounds and was spared punishment due to his saving Priya. Priya has been personally seeing to Jordan's recovery in thanks.

In Adjustment Protocol, Priya prepares for the Naming Day celebration in Blythe Ann Workman's tavern. With Echo, Gaia and Nathan Miller hiding behind the bar, Blythe Ann and Jae do their best to distract Priya so she doesn't find them. Clarke arrives posing as Josephine and claims that she needs her help with mind wiping Echo, as Ryker couldn't bring himself to do it. Recognizing that something is wrong, Echo instigates a fight, and Clarke knocks Priya unconscious when she tries to escape.

Later, in Ryker's machine shop, Clarke and her friends revive Priya to force her to help them to disable the reactor powering Sanctum. When Priya refuses, Clarke threatens to smash Ryker's Mind Drive with a sledgehammer to force her to cooperate. With their original plan having failed, Clarke decides to use Priya to spread the truth. Bellamy brings Priya in front of the crowd of Sanctumites and, holding Ryker's Mind Drive, compels Priya to reveal the truth about the Primes to the gathered crowd.

Once Priya has admitted the truth, Bellamy gives her back Ryker's Mind Drive. However, Russell initiates the Adjustment Protocol in retaliation, unleashing a massive amount of Red Sun toxin upon the crowd which goes mad and attacks each other. Separated from Bellamy in the chaos, Priya is confronted by Delilah's enraged parents. Calling Priya a murderer, Blythe Ann stabs her to death.

In The Blood of Sanctum, after the defeat of the Primes, Jordan confronts Bellamy about his role in Priya's death. Bellamy insists that the truth got Priya killed, not him. Jordan suggests that while Sanctum wasn't perfect, it was at least peaceful before they came along. While they were talking, a man named Trey watches them. As Bellamy walks away, Jordan looks at Priya's Mind Drive which he holds in his hand.

In From the Ashes, Jordan Green brings Russell Lightbourne Priya's Mind Drive, feeling that Russell should have. Russell, who now wishes to die, thinks that Jordan now believes in the divinity of the Primes because he has been Adjusted, but Jordan denies it. Russell smashes Priya's Mind Drive with his shackles, destroying it and her consciousness and tells Jordan that unless Jordan is willing to do the same thing to him, they are done talking.

In False Gods, as James Crockett goes to try to fix Sanctum's reactor, Cora expresses concern, stating that Priya had never let anyone go into the reactor core. However, James dismisses Cora's concerns.

Later, as Blythe Ann Workman serves him, Trey tells her that she deserves to burn for killing Priya. However, an unrepentant Blythe Ann states that Delilah deserved justice.

Personality[]

Priya was horrified when she learned that Russell Lightbourne used Clarke Griffin to resurrect his daughter, though she seemed more concerned with the fact that it wasn’t Josephine’s turn, rather than the lack of consent from Clarke. She was also shown to care a great deal for her son, willing to tell the truth about the Primes to the people in exchange for her son’s Mind Drive. She displayed a streak of insensitiveness, stating that she hated a dessert that her host Delilah loved. Though her host's mind was wiped, she may retain some of her fondness for Jordan Green as Priya tenderly held and comforted him after Jordan was seriously wounded protecting her against Madi Griffin. Russell later states that Priya personally saw to Jordan's recovery in thanks for him saving her. Jordan in turn is shown to be devastated by her death and to have preserved Priya's Mind Drive.
