— Otan to John Murphy [src] |
Otan was a minor recurring character in the second and third seasons. He was portrayed by Mik Byskov.
Early Life
Otan is the brother of Emori and at some point they started to work for A.L.I.E.
Throughout the Series
in Rubicon, Otan, along with Emori, take all of Thelonious Jaha's supplies while holding John Murphy hostage when they encounter Jaha and his group on their way to the City of Light.
In Wanheda (Part 2), Otan is the first to eat Jaha's "no pain pill" and he turns against Emori. Murphy and Emori kill Gideon and leave Otan and Jaha behind.
In Hakeldama, Jaha and Otan come to Arkadia and a guard named Shawn Gillmer tries to take the metal box that A.L.I.E. gave Jaha. Gillmer also refuses to let a "grounder" inside where they live. Otan and Gillmer briefly fight and Gillmer wins, shooting Otan in the chest. As he dies, Jaha tells Otan to go to the City of Light and that A.L.I.E. is waiting for him. Otan then dies as Jaha looks on.Personality
Otan had a curious nature for the unknown. He appeared loyal to his sister, but the possibility of living life free of disfigurement turned him against her.
Physical Appearance
Otan was of average height with brown hair and hazel brown eyes. He used a cloth to cover his face to hide the disfigurement from his "stained" bloodline.

Notes and Trivia
- In "Gimme Shelter" and "God Complex", details about Baylis suggest that Emori and Otan may have been part of Sangedakru, but this is never confirmed.
