Throughout the Series
In Many Happy Returns, Mel hangs onto a branch from a cliff side. When she hears voices above her, she calls out for help. Mel tells Bellamy, Finn, Murphy, Sterling and Monroe that the ledge is unstable and will break any second.
Mel watches as Sterling rappels down to her. When he reaches her, she tries to reach for him as Sterling sets his feet on the rock ledge to steady himself. In that moment the rock ledge breaks, falling from under their feet. Seconds later, Mel watches on in horror as the rope comes loose and Sterling falls to his death.
Shortly after Sterling's death, the others agree to help Mel. Bellamy rappels down to her. When he reaches her, Mel wraps her arms around his neck and the two are pulled to safety. Later, Bellamy fashions a sling for Mel's injured arm.In Human Trials, Mel arrives at Camp Jaha with Monroe, Bellamy and Octavia. Abby walks up to her and recognizes her from the Factory Station. Mel informs her that there were no other survivors from her station. Under Abby's orders, she is then taken to medical.
Mel is stubborn and scared but still can be helpful in some ways.
Mel is young and has brown hair with dark eyes.
Sterling was Mel's friend on the Ark. When Sterling comes across the wreckage of Factory Station, he comes across Mel. He instantly recognized her as his friend and became determined to help her.Sterling was killed, however, trying to save Mel.

- Mel is the only survivor of the Factory Station.
- While on the Ark, she was friends with Sterling.
- If she survived into Season Four then she would've died during Praimfaya, being among those left outside the Second Dawn Bunker.
