Macallan is a minor character in the season three premiere. He is portrayed by Canadian singer/songwriter Shawn Mendes.

Early life

Not much is known about his early life. He was born on the Ark and appears to be talented at music and singing.

In Wanheda (Part 1), Macallan attempts to steal a bracelet but Raven Reyes catches his wrist and tells him "not so fast". Gina wanders up and sarcastically suggests they float Macallan, but he asks what they want for it. Raven says he has to play one song for the bracelet, and Macallan simply agrees. He plays the piano and sings "Add it Up". However, Jasper Jordan sees this and is infuriated, as Maya Vie taught him how to play it and seeing Macallan playing it reminds him of her. Jasper then tackles Macallan off of the piano and the two briefly fight before a few Arkers break them up.

Personality

He is a "scrappy, young Ark survivor" who finds himself in a sticky situation, which then forces him to use a "particular set of talents" he has.

Physical Appearance

Macallan is in his mid teens with a tall and muscular build. He has dark brown eyes and curly dark brown hair. His skin is pale and he has dimples.

Macallan and Raven's relationship is unclear. She knows of his singing talent; when she caught him trying to steal a gold band, as barter, she asked him to perform a song.

• The character was named by Jason Rothenberg after a brand of whiskey.
• Macallan is played by singer Shawn Mendes.
  • Macallan is the first character on The 100 to be portrayed by a singer. This is also Mendes's first acting role on television.
  • Mendes is a big fan of The 100. He tweeted to the The 100 writers to show his interest in acting in the show.
• In "Wanheda (Part 1)", Macallan sings a piano cover of "Add It Up" by Violent Femmes.
• Since Macallan last appeared in Season Three premiere, his fate had been unknown. However, at the 2018 New York Comic Con, Rothenberg confirmed that Macallan is still alive and in cryosleep onboard Eligius IV, but it was unknown if he will return on-screen.
  • This means he survived in the bunker during the six-years after the Second Nuclear Apocalypse.
