They can't leave if you push them away first, right? How's that working for you so far?
Wick to Raven Reyes [src]

Kyle Wick was a recurring character in the first and second seasons. He was portrayed by Steve Talley and debuted in the The Calm. His last appearance was in Blood Must Have Blood (Part 2).

Early Life[]

He was born on the Ark and he became an engineer and the apprentice of Jacapo Sinclair. He knew Monty Green and Raven Reyes before arriving on Earth.

Throughout the Series[]

In The Calm, he found Marcus Kane after Diana Sydney caused the power outage on the Ark. Before the power went out Wick was told by Jacapo Sinclair to hold a door open, which he is still doing, using his arm to hold it open. However, since he is stuck Kane has to force the door open and the two go off to look for other survivors. As they venture forward they come across more survivors. When Kane manages to get in contact with Thelonious Jaha, Kane is instructed to take Wick and the others to the Mess Hall, as Jaha and the others trapped in Earth Monitoring due to the rubble trapping the doors. Jaha explains to him that he and the others are dying and not worth saving. Wick tells Kane to leave with him, but Kane refuses. After seeing Kane struggle with removing the rubble, Wick and the other survivors begin to help and they reach the other survivors.

After making their way into Earth Monitoring, Wick, Kane, and the other survivors help Jaha and those in Earth Monitoring onto their feet. Sinclair states there might be other survivors on areas of the Ark where the Exodus Ship took off. Sinclair explains to Kane that the only way to get there would be through the vents, which Wicks comments on how hot they would be. Kane volunteers to look for the other survivors and Wick travels with him. Before entering the vents, Wick wishes Kane good luck and Kane goes on his journey.

In Many Happy Returns, he is first seen in the episode alongside Raven Reyes. Throughout the episode, the two argue over how they will contact the rest of the Delinquents trapped inside Mount Weather. Wick gives Raven a leg brace he made for her much to Ravens displeasure. When Raven finally invents something that could potentially work, she has to climb up a radio tower. Wick says it won't work but Raven wishes to prove him wrong. However, when Raven realizes that she can't climb the tower due to her leg injury, Wick tries to comfort her but she brushes him off. Back inside the lab, Raven puts on Wick's leg brace. Raven is able to walk steadily on it, which pleases Wick. After another brainstorming session, Raven realizes how to get in contact with the others. The two create a mini balloon to send up into the air that the others can see. This proves successful since it was spotted by Clarke Griffin. However, it is quickly shot down by Major Byrne, since the Grounders can use it to pinpoint their exact location.

In Human Trials, Wick is briefly mentioned by Raven when helping Clarke, Bellamy and Octavia Blake escape from camp, by shutting off the electric fences.

In Bodyguard of Lies, via radio Wick along with Raven helps Bellamy shut off the Acid Fog. After Bellamy succeeds Raven and Wick hug in the excitement, she kisses him and the two have sex. Wick then tells Raven that his first name is Kyle. After the two have sex, Raven feels a sense of discomfort as she still misses Finn, which agitates Wick.

In Blood Must Have Blood (Part 1), Raven and Wick are tasked with blowing up the generators in Mount Weather in order to disable the power for one minute. The two are faced with a setback when one of the charges on the generator was not placed properly. When Mount Weather guards show up, Raven and Wick find a way to blow it up, killing the Mountain Men attacking them. An injured Raven tells Wick not to leave her and he says he won't. But, they are ambushed and captured by Mountain Men.

In Blood Must Have Blood (Part 2), Wick and Raven are seen inside Mount Weather captured alongside other Sky People. They are placed in what was once the delinquent's dorm room. Raven is chosen by Cage as the next Sky Person to have her bone marrow extracted, which angers Wick. When Clarke Griffin irradiates Mount Weather, all the Sky People are set free. Afterward, Wick is seen carrying Raven back to Camp Jaha.

Personality[]

Wick is smart but likes to goof off and poke fun. He is kind, thoughtful, and resourceful as shown in the The Calm when he helps Kane get into Earth Monitoring instead of leaving to save himself and in Many Happy Returns when he creates a leg brace for Raven while also helping her cope with her disability.

Physical Appearance[]

Wick is a white male, with a lean build. He has light brown eyes, short dirty blonde hair and a thin mustache.

Relationships[]

Raven Reyes[]

Main article: Raven and Wick

Wick and Raven are at first arguing with each other in Many Happy Returns, but are shown to have a good working relationship when they decide to put their minds together. They are shown to cooperate in Human Trials when Wick shuts off the electric fences for Raven. Their relationship turns sexual in Bodyguard of Lies. After they shut off the Acid Fog, they sleep together, but Raven seems conflicted afterward.

When they are captured by the Mountain Men, Raven tells Wick to not leave her, which he does not. When Raven is chosen to have her bone marrow extracted, Wick feels terrible by the fact that he cannot do anything to help her. After the Mountain Men are defeated Wick is shown carrying Raven in Camp Jaha. In Wanheda (Part 1), however, it is mentioned by Abby that Raven pushed Wick away.

Notes and Trivia[]

  • Wick's first name was revealed to be Kyle in Bodyguard of Lies.
  • The writers had wanted to bring Wick back to the show after his debut performance but had difficulty trying to find a place to reintroduce him. Kim Shumway, one of the writers, detailed that he had nailed all of his lines in his first episode and was excited to see how the infamous 'mechanic versus engineer' rivalry could come into play between him and Raven.[1]
  • Wick has not appeared since the end of the second season. However he is mentioned by Abby in the third season premiere, hinting that he and Raven broke up in the three months between the second season finale and the start of the third season.
  • Wick mentioned to Kane in The Calm that his mother voted for Diana Sydney.
  • If Wick was still alive during season four then he presumably perished during the Second Culling, as he was not on Clarke's list of 100 survivors.
