The real Echo was a minor character in the sixth and seventh seasons. She was portrayed by Milli Wilkinson.
She was a young archer and spy for Azgeda. She was good friends with another girl named Ash.
In "Ashes to Ashes," it is revealed that she was the original Echo who was best friend with Ash. Queen Nia visited them and on a certain point forced the real Echo to kill Ash or Queen Nia would let them both get killed. Ash then killed the real Echo in self-defense. However, since Sangedakru was expecting a girl named Echo, Ash, who is now named "Echo", was forced to take her place by Queen Nia. The death of her best friend left "Echo" hardened and traumatized with the burden, causing her to become ruthless.
Early Life[]
Not much is known about Echo's early life but at some point, she was a warrior for Azgeda. Due to Echo's own friendship with Ash, it is implied that Queen Nia and her army of Azgeda members took her people's land as both Echo and Ash were forcibly taken to become Azgeda warriors.
Throughout the Series[]
In Ashes to Ashes, in a flashback at some point in her youth, she was slated to be a spy for Sangedakru, chosen by Queen Nia. One day she was out in the forest practicing her archery with Ash, where the two were having fun. The mood quickly shifted however when Queen Nia arrived and informed Echo of her upcoming duties of spying on Sangedakru. To prove to Nia that she was truly worthy, Nia brought a Sangedakru spy that she captured. Nia allowed the spy to run, and told Echo to shoot him down, but Echo hesitated and missed her shot, prompting Nia to shoot down the spy herself. Annoyed, Nia threw down a knife before Echo and told her she had one more chance to prove her worth, and that was by killing her friend Ash. Nia says if Echo doesn't kill Ash, they both die.
Echo and Ash get into their battle stances, while Nia counts down for either to attack. Echo slashes Ash, and grabs onto her, telling her to fight back so Nia will think both of them should be worthy to live. Ash unwilling and scared, is thrown to the ground by Echo. Ash crawls away slowly and grabs onto an arrow on the ground. Nia tells Echo to finish up and Echo apologizes to Ash, but Ash gets the upper hand and pierces Echo with her arrow, killing her. Nia is surprised, not expecting Ash to come out victorious. Seeing as Azgeda is still expecting an "Echo" in the coming days, Nia proclaims Ash will now be known as Echo and take the originals place. This has left "Echo" traumatized by what she has done, thus losing her own humanity and causing her to become ruthless. In From the Ashes, the original Echo is seen in the toxin-induced hallucination that "Echo" is seeing. The original Echo is tormenting "Echo" for murdering her and taking her own name.
